Aisapari is the area’s own development organisation
Aisapari is a local action group and it is located in Southern Ostrobothnia in Finland. The operational area consists of six municipalities: Evijärvi, Lappajärvi, Vimpeli, Alajärvi, Lapua, Kauhava. Aisapari was founded in the spring of 1999, and it’s one of the 54 Finnish LAGs.
The main idea of the Leader program is that the Local action groups are independent organisations. This ensures that the local development truly follows the ”bottom-up” approach and the projects and actions are based on the locals’ needs and wishes. Aisapari’s LAG board holds meetings several times a year and decides which projects receive funding.
Aisapari’s local development strategy
Aisapari has its own local development strategy that guides the development of its operational area. The strategy is based on the ideas and thoughts of the local actors. A SWOT analysis is also used in order to map out the area’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The strategy follows and implements the Rural development program for Mainland Finland. The name of Aisapari’s local development strategy is ”Merkki päällä!”
Aisapari receives funding from the European Union, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland and the municipalities in the area.
